Frame Colors

Choosing your sunglass frame color. Because your hair color may change, or you may decide to go bald and or you wear different color clothes, I recommend choosing your frame color based on your skin tone. All people have either a cool (blue-based) or warm (yellow-based) complexion. I will go into details on how to find your skin tone or complexion in my section choosing your skin tone. The point I’m making is complexion is very important when selecting a sunglass frame color. The paler the complexion the more obvious a dark frame will be, and the darker the skin the more obvious a light frame will be. Therefore, you have to decide whether you wish to make a statement or have your sunglasses blend with your skin tone. There are so many colors available to choose from making your selection more difficult. But do not despair Sunglass evaluator is here to help you.

Once you have determined if you are warm or cool, then you can find frame colors that would serve you well. Some examples of frame colors best for warm complexions are flat black, brown, gold, copper, camel, peach, khaki, orange, coral, off-white, fire-engine red, warm blue, and light tortoise. For cool skin tones shiny black, rose-brown, blue-grey, plum, magenta, pink, jade, blue, and demi-amber, just to name a few.

Hair colors are also considered warm or cool. Some examples of warm hair colors are flat black, brown-gold, dirty-grey, golden blonde, and carrot. Cool hair colors include blue-black, dishwater-brown, salt and pepper, white, platinum, and strawberry blond to name a few.

Uniforms, work clothes and every day wear can play a major role in selecting a frame color. Warm color clothing includes UPS brown uniforms, Marine Corps Khaki uniforms, the Cleveland Browns football team uniforms, navy blue nurse’s smocks, and the Los Angeles Angels Red baseball uniforms. Cool color clothing includes Postal Clerks blue uniforms, Doctors white coat attire, royal blue nurse’s smocks, Dodger blues, and the Air Force blue uniforms, just to name a very few. In Option B I will explain how to determine warm and cool coloring.
